My Story
Angela L. Johnson is a seasoned, TX certified educator with over 15 years’ experience teaching children from Elementary to High School, from New York to Houston, Texas. She has made it her life’s mission to create meaningful youth programs that allow children to thrive, by creating impactful experiential based programming that to meet children at the stage of development they are. After launching such highly successful programs as “Actin’ Out”, a performing arts outreach camp in 3rd Ward, “Rules to Fly By”, the first Aviation mentorship program that utilized professionals in Aviation to reach at risk minority boys while they are in school in Acres Homes, and “Girl, I’m a Boss” a program designed to reach female students between 12 and 15 years of age in South-west Houston, Ms. Johnson, opened her own Academy, K.A.C.I. (Kids’ Academy of Cultural Intelligence) in the Fall of 2020 in South Acres/Sunnyside. This technology-based learning center recreated the classroom experience in a home environment to serve students at risk of falling further into the education chasm, significantly widened by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is her mission to empower all young teens with their right to believe in themselves again. She is a “boy mom” of two who she lovingly refers to as her “Tupac” and “Malcolm X” of the future generation. All that she is and does is to instill them with their authority to seek their knowledge of self, teaching them that their power to possess their own unique gifts will be a beacon of light unto the world. Her favorite hobby is traveling to exotic places, connecting with people, learning their culture, and enjoying their cuisine…In fact it’s the cuisine for her. 😊
