Our Story.

Innerverse was founded and incorporated in Spring of 2022 by 3 minority women, mothers, and long-time educators with experience teaching children of all ages from Houston, TX to Brooklyn, NY to Colombia, South America.

After observing many factors that were preventing our children from performing at optimum level, they set out to learn which factor holds the greatest potential for creating change if delivered in the proper learning environment. Using their inquiry results from students, educators, and parents, these ladies came together and agreed to design a proactive approach that addresses low student engagement and lack of authentic, positive social experiences for middle schoolers. They designed a model that enlists young adults’ participation in their own self-discovery, believing lack of sovereignty, coupled with the naturally difficult process of adolescent development, are partly the cause of many frustrations experienced at this level.

Currently, INNERVERSE has impacted approximately 236 middle schoolers in its first year of activity and is targeted to double their reach by June of 2023. INNERVERSE stands as the premier Houston based educational organization that proves learning about "self" in a relevant way, is necessary at this stage. We empower their ability to find authority in their journey into adulthood, especially when they are expected to make life-changing decisions as early as freshman year in high school. We are their champions for self-realization!

The Problem.

Our workshops are designed specifically for kids 12-15 years. Although we believe our idea crosses over every community, we want to focus our initial efforts in the high needs, Title 1 communities. These areas seem to have the greatest concentration of external factors that influence a child’s perception of who they are in various ways.

We want to impact with our work the transitional stages in the human being, teen years, and eventually young adults’.  In the words of Dr. Siegel “This period (…) is a time of great potential and of great constructive power. Specifically, the teen years, is the first crisis of identity, vulnerability to peer pressure and lack of direction and purpose”.

We provide kids with the tools necessary to:

a) acknowledge, recognize and honor themselves in their transitional moments of key decision making, and

b) as a compass for being prepared for what they want to become.

Our Hope.

Give teens exposure to tools + perspectives that will help them:

make personally aligned, relevant career choices.

that stem from self-esteem, personal integrity and deep meaning.

whilst fostering hope, growth, connection and agency to create a fulfilling, meaningful life + relationships.

Our Approach.

Our services consider the whole human. For humans to make sovereign, intrinsically-aligned decisions from  a high sense of self and deep connection to others, we articulate: holistic concepts, ancient wisdom practices of self-inquiry and character building and modern science in the form of neuroscience and positive psychology.

Our Team.

As mothers first and educators second, we thrive in generating opportunities for children to be happy, engaged and and connected to themselves and their experience.  It is our hope that every child we encounter understands their relevance, sovereignty and that they hold special gifts within to share with the world.
